Norwegian and Czech Defence Attachés changed over at an accreditation ceremony at the Ministry of National Defence Wednesday. Vice Minister of National Defence Margiris Abukevičius thanked the outgoing officials and accredited the incoming.
“I am convinced that you will follow in the footsteps of your predecessors and we will continue working in the spirit of mutual understanding and trust, while Lithuania’s cooperation with your countries will continue growing stronger,” said M. Abukevičius wishing the incoming officials every success in the new position.
The previous Defence Attaché of Norway to Lithuania Col Hakon Loken was replaced by Captain (Navy) Odd Erling Furu whose earlier capacity was in the Defence Staff of Norway for four years, and in the Norwegian Navy before that.
Col Romana Pešatova was replaced by Lt Col Jaroslav Voros as the Defence Attaché of the Czech Republic to Lithuania. His previous capacities varied across the Czech Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.
Vice Minister M. Abukevičius thanked the Czech and the Norwegians for the contribution to strengthen the regional security. Both countries rotate troops to the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group in Rukla and send capabilities to the NATO Air Policing Mission in the Baltic states.
