As the year approaches a close, the Ministry of National Defence has completed fully two more procurement projects. AROCS customized platform vehicles of Daimler AG German manufacturer have been delivered to the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the last shipment of Peugeot Dangel Expert cross-country versatile cargo vans has arrived. The equipment will strengthen the National Defence Volunteer Force. The total worth of the contracts amounts to approx. EUR 16 million.
The Defence Materiel Agency under the Ministry of National Defence signed a contract on January 20 with Veho Lietuva UAB, authorised representative of Daimler AG German manufacturer in Lithuania, on procurement of AROCS trucks last January. On December 21 the trucks were commissioned to the General Romualdas Giedraitis Artillery Battalion. The 4×4 passenger-cargo vans have been assigned to National Defence Volunteer Force units across Lithuania.
The Arocs have a H-shaped hydraulic container lauding system, two additional cargo loading and transportation platforms that have a removable tent covering and suitable for transporting ammunition. A customized cargo loading and transportation platform makes them capable of transporting wheeled and tracked vehicles: HMMWV, MB UNIMOG, Land Rover, M113, etc.
Cargo van Peugeot Dangel Expert 4×4 is a M1 category passenger car that has an enhanced cross-country capability and accommodates 8 people. Additional equipment in the van also makes it suitable for command post vehicle role.
