On April 10–12 Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis and his delegation are conducting a formal visit to Ukraine. The visit schedule includes Minister’s meeting with Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, participation in the Kyiv Security Forum, and meeting with Lithuanian military personnel deployed to the military training operation in the training centres of Desna and Berdychiv.
R. Karoblis will speak at the panel on “Joining Forces for Battle for Freedom” at the Kyiv Security Forum other speakers being Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, and Chairman of the Estonian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Marko Mihkelson.
Lithuania and our allies are providing Ukraine with assistance in its armed forces reform, training and education, Lithuania also is provides medical care and rehabilitation to injured Ukrainian soldiers in our medical care facilities.
Lithuania has been providing political and practical assistance, including military, to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian aggression in early 2014. Lithuanian citizens support the endeavour – a public opinion poll carried out by request of the Ministry of National Defence in the end of last year shows that 64% of respondents are in favour of Lithuania’s military support to Ukraine.
