On February 14–16 Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis will attend the international Munich Security Conference in Germany.
The 56th edition of the event held in the capital of Bavaria will address about the collective defence of the Western countries, future of the European Union and NATO, hotspots, cyber and energy security, climate change, the Arctic, and other international issues.
Minister R. Karoblis will speak at the “Relationship between the EU, NATO and Russia” panel organised by the Minister of Defence of Germany and GLOBSEC session “Integrating European Defence: EU-NATO-UK and the potential of Central Europe”. Minister will also meet with representatives of the German organisation supporting the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union and reserve officers of the Bundeswehr.
Minister R.Karoblis is planned to meet bilaterally with Minister of Defence of Sweden Peter Hultqvist to discuss relevant aspects of bilateral military cooperation on the sidelines of the Conference.
The Munich Security Conference is one of the largest and most influential security forums worldwide that every year pulls together leaders and opinion formers from around the world to discuss pressing issues on the international agenda.
