On February 5 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas discussed cooperation and regional security at a meeting with Ambassador of Israel to Lithuania HE Yossef Levy.
Minister A. Anušauskas underscored that the relations established by Lithuanian and Israeli defence authorities were important and had the potential to grow stronger. It was important to both countries o continue the bilateral political consultations, maintain relations in the area of cybersecurity, and to share experience in the ae of forging a stronger public resilience.
Ambassador Levy pointe out that Lithuania and Israel were bound together by history, as well as their assessment of the regional security situation, joint projects, and cooperation with the same strategic partner, the United States of America.
Other topics addressed at the meeting were cooperation on military industry affairs and participation of three Israeli companies in Lithuania’s armed forces modernisation projects. “The projects underway are long-term, therefore Lithuania takes care to ensure re-supply and maintenance of the acquired systems,” Minister said.
