On May 27–28 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas is conducting a visit to Lisbon to attend an informal meeting of European Union Defence Ministers.
In Portugal, the Defence Ministers will meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and discuss opportunities to strengthen the NATO-EU cooperation on security and defence.
The growing security challenges that both organisations are facing will be the key focus of the meeting, alongside with the ongoing strategic revisions in the context of the EU Strategic Compass and NATO 2030.
A. Anusšauskas and EU counterparts will be also discussing EU military capacity building and will review security situation in Africa with partners from the region.
