On February 5 the Second Investigation Department under the Ministry of National Defence and the State Security Department presented the joint National Threat Assessment 2019 to the public and the Media.
Director of the Second Investigation Department under the MoD Col Remigijus Baltrėnas and Director of the State Security Department Darius Jauniškis presented the assessment at a press conference.
The document is normally presented to the public once a year, in early spring, on the basis of the Law on Intelligence of the Republic of Lithuania. The Second Investigation Department under the Ministry of National Defence and the State Security Department have been presenting the National Threat Assessment as a joint document since 2015.
The conference was also attended by members of the Committee on National Security and Defence of the Parliament and its chair Vytautas Bakas.
