The Ministry of National Defence joined in the initiative of the President of the Republic of Lithuania: in the evening of March 31 the MoD building was lit with colours of the flag of Italy to express solidarity with the country experiencing the highest loss of life to the coronavirus in Europe, numbering over 11,000.
March 31 was called the national day of mourning in Italy to honour victims of the coronavirus pandemic.
