On January 27–28 representatives of the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Defence of Moldova held consultations in Vilnius and signed a bilateral cooperation plan for 2020. The officials also discussed security situation in the neighbouring regions, development of armed forces, prospects of the Lithuanian-Moldovan cooperation.
The cooperation plan signed by the Ministerial representatives provides for English language and Officer courses at the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, NCO course at the Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School, and more courses and events for Moldova.
Lithuania and Moldova have been signing cooperation plans annually since 2007. The two countries started military cooperation in 2006.
