In the late afternoon of May 19 a B-52 U.S. strategic bomber conducted a low approach over Vilnius as part of a coordinated U.S. and other allies’ training, in demonstration of the Alliance solidarity and unity.
The United States and European allies consolidate their collective defence commitments and ability to respond to threats worldwide expeditiously.
According to Defence Attaché of the United States Maj Michael Young, the U.S. commitment to the security of Lithuania and other NATO allies is steadfast and such training events ensure deterrence and allied interoperability.
The B-52 bomber flew over the Vilnius International Airport. Since 2018, the U.S. and other NATO allies carried out over 200 such B-52 bomber training events over the Baltic and other allies.
