On August 7 NATO air policing fighter jets were scrambled in response to one IL-20 which was flying from Kaliningrad to the mainland of the Russian Federation via international airspace without using its onboard transponder, without the flight plan, though the crew was keeping radio contact with the regional air traffic control.
