Vice Minister of National Defence Margiris Abukevičius departs for Brussels to attend a NATO Defence Ministerial on February 16-17.
M. Abukevičius and NATO Defence Ministers will discuss the situation in Ukraine and possibilities to bolster deterrence and defence in the eastern flank of the Alliance.
Other topics for discussion on the meeting agenda are increasing the defence spending of NATO allies and the NATO Strategic Concept review. The North Atlantic Council will also meet with representatives of Ukraine and Georgia and the European Union, Finland and Sweden.
M. Abukevičius is planned to have separate bilateral meetings with several other NATO Ministers of Defence during the visit to Brussels.
