On October 18-20 the Ministry of National Defence hosted a meeting of the Joint Lithuanian-German Working Group on details of the German Brigade deployment to Lithuania. The meeting covered a wide range of implementation of the deployment aspects.
“We have already decided the structure of the new brigade, as well as concrete deployment locations. The training areas at Rukla and Rūdninkai will be used fully for training and exercise of the German brigade,” says Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas.
According to Minister, the main part of the Brigade will deploy as soon as 2026.
“A part of the German military will come to Lithuania together with their families, our commitment is to provide the necessary civilian infrastructure for their family members, including a better commute with German,” says A. Anušauskas.
The Joint Lithuania-German Working Group agreed to sign the deployment plan by December 22.
