On June 30 representatives of some of the largest companies of the German defence industry and of confederations and associations of the Lithuanian industry and business met at the ministry of National Defence. They were briefed by representatives of the Defence Materiel Agency under the Ministry of National Defence on the Industry Day event coming up later this year.
“The meeting has been a good opportunity for the organisations that consolidate the Lithuanian industry to get first-hand impressions what expectation the German business has for potential Lithuanian manufacturers and suppliers, as well as to become better informed about selection procedures. Component production and contacts with Lithuanian companies could be an important step towards a closer future cooperation with key weaponry manufacturers,” underscored Director of the Defence Materiel Agency under the Ministry of National Defence Sigitas Dzekunskas welcoming the guests to the meeting.
It is planned that representatives of the German enterprises Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co KG will present to Lithuanian companies the opportunities to bid for contracts concerning service and component production for the Boxer IFVs at Industry Day, as well as wider oprtions for cooperation with the mentioned German companies. The event will be attended by selected and invited Lithuanian companies that comply with the criteria defines by the German side.
The meeting was attended by representatives of some of the largest defence industry producers in Germany –Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co KG and ARTEC GmbH, and representatives of the main organisations that consolidate the Lithuanian industry.
