On September 17 President of the Republic of Lithuania HE Gitanas Nausėda will pay a visit to Rukla and meet with Lithuanian troops. The President will be accompanied by Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis and Chief of Defence of Lithuania Major General Valdemaras Rupšys.
The Head of State will familiarise with the armed forces units of Rukla Garrison and tasks of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group (NATO eFP BG) deployed in Rukla, and discuss continuity of the armed forces development and modernisation projects and ensurement of closer cooperation with allies with heads of the Ministry of National Defence and the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
The guests are planned to tour infrastructure of the Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf and the Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment and see a display of their equipment. The Head of State will familiarise with soldiers‘ service conditions and dine together at the canteen.
The President will also meet with soldiers of the German-led NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group and observe a tactical interoperability exercise. The NATO eFP BG is currently manned by Belgian, Czech, Dutch and Norwegian military and one representative of Iceland, aside from the German troops.
The soldiers deployed in Rukla are the core of the Lithuanian Land Force. This is the first visit to see Lithuanian Armed Forces military personnel of the current Head of State as the Commander-in-Chief.

On September 17 media representatives should arrive at the Lithuanian Armed Forces Mechanised Infantry Brigade HQ (Jonava region, Rukla, Karaliaus Mindaugo g. 11) until 1030 hrs (30 minutes ahead of the media event).
