Minister of National Defence Kasčiūnas studied Ukrainian fortifications and visited the Drone Training Centre where he met with representatives of the Lviv National Army Academy.
“It is vital that we are able to fitness Ukraine’s practical application of fortifications and countermobility measures, how things come together and seem. We have ongoing works installing countermobility parks in Lithuania, as well as pooling countermobility measures which would block and halt actions of hostile states. We have learned a lot at the Drone Training Centre, the Ukrainians shared their experience in drone operation on the battlefield. It is important to admit that UAV technology and capability are a vital part of modern armed forces. We cannot fall behind, we need to be at the forefront of disruptive technologies and change in warfare,” said Minister of National Defence L. Kasčiūnas.
During the visit to the drone centre the Ukrainians showcased not just aerial but also different types of drones. Ukraine also utilizes ground drones in various roles, for instance, minelaying or medical evacuation. The Ukrainians are currently working on a unified single real-time control centre for all drones on the battlefield which would integrate all robotic and unmanned ground and aerial systems.
