Minister of National Defence Laurynas Kasčiūnas departs for Singapore to attend Shangri-la Dialogue 2024, the premier Indian-Pacific security forum which will pull together Ministers of Defence of Asia, Europe, America and other regions of the world on May 31–June 2 to discuss security threats and challenges.
Minister L. Kasčiūnas is also planned to meet bilaterally with Defence Ministers, or their representatives, of the countries of the regions – Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and Singapore – on the margins of the security forum to discuss regional security situation, opportunity and development of bilateral defence cooperation, and other relevant topics.
“We understand that security in the Indo-Pacific can have direct implications for the Euro-Atlantic space, that is why we have to maintain the ability to sit down with the like-minded Indo-Pacific countries and further develop security cooperation,” said Minister of National Defence L. Kasčiūnas before leaving for Singapore.
