On December 14 through 17 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas will be conducting a visit to the United States of America. Minister will meet with U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon.
A. Anušauskas and Lloyd J. Austin will discuss acquisition of the HIMARS High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, the continuous and persistent U.S. force presence in Lithuania, assistance to Ukraine and other relevant topics of security and defence.
During the visit Minister will also meet with U.S. Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth, Chairman of the Armed Services Committee Congressman Mike Rogers and Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security Ronald S. Moultrie.
The United States is Lithuania’s partner and one of the key Allies for the security of the Baltic region. The Americans actively contribute to the security assurance in the Baltic states, contribute troops, finance and equipment to the regional defence thus strengthening regional security and stability.
