Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas leaves on a formal visit for Brussels Tuesday to attend the NATO Defence Ministers meeting on October 12–14. The Ministers will address the implementation of the decisions taken on deterrence and defence at the NATO Summit in Madrid, as well as other relevant aspects of strengthening the Alliance’s defence.
A. Anušauskas will also attend the meeting in the Ramstein format in Brussels among Ministers and military representatives of other military aid donors to Ukraine. Participants of the format will discuss the course of the war in Ukraine and the country’s current military needs with Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Oleksii Reznikov.
Another point on the visit agenda is the planned Bucharest 9 meeting of the Ministers of Defence of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary, and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
