The military activity of Belarus observed recently and announced by the Belaruski Gayun monitoring group is likely to be related to the publicly announced combat and mobilization readiness test.
Belarus is conducting its routine armed forces combat training that falls into different intensity cycles. The combat training has just peaked, Belarusian armed units are observed in areas near Lithuania’s border. Activity is intense across all main military training areas of Belarus.
Activity in the airspace is just as intensified. A small part of reserve has been called in to integrate in the Belarusian Armed Forces’ units on training.
Belarus claims that the military drills is a response to the national and NATO exercises ongoing in Lithuania and the region. The military intelligence service is constantly monitoring and assessing the situation. There is not reason for concerns.
