On January 26 the Government of the Republic of Lithuania approved donation of thermovision devices to the Armed Forces of Ukraine owned by Lithuania and currently held in trust by the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The worth of the donation amounts to EUR 342 thousand.
Lithuania renders the assistance allowing for the deteriorating security environment around the country and aiming to bolster Ukraine’s defensive military capabilities.
The shipment is planned to be sent shortly, as soon as the practical detail has been coordinated with Ukraine.
The handover of military assistance is a step on the course of a consistent and comprehensive Lithuania’s support to Ukraine as it enhances defensive capabilities and protects sovereignty.
Lithuania renders military assistance to Ukraine in compliance to all applicable international agreements and conventions, and EU and national legislation. Only the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and its subordinate institutions are authorized to use the assets donated by the Lithuanian Armed Forces only for the purposes of ensuring security of the country, national defence, participation in regional and collective agreements, activities abiding by the regulations of the UN Charter.
