An intense preparation period has been completed paving the way for constructions of the largest piece of military infrastructure in the history of Lithuania in the Rūdninkai Training Area. The moment will be marked on Monday, August 19, with a capsule burying ceremony which will mark the start of the first phase of constructions of military infrastructure for the German Brigade at the Rūdninkai Training Area. Among those attending will be Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė, Minister of National Defence Laurynas Kasčiūnas, Chief of Defence of Lithuania General Raimundas Vaikšnoras and State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Defence Nils Hilmer.
The upcoming military campus of 170 ha in area will be designed and constructed by Eikos Statyba UAB according to a EUR 125 million contract it signed with the Ministry of national Defence in early August.
