On June 29 through 30 Commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) General Richard D. Clarke is conducting a visit to Lithuania. He is meeting with Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Valdemaras Rupšys, Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas, and representatives of the Lithuanian Special Operations Forces.
The guests and Lithuanian representatives will be discussing cooperation of the U.S. and the Lithuanian Special Operations Forces, mutual activities in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
Gen R.D. Clarke is accompanied by Commander of the Special Operations Command Europe (SACEUR) Maj Gen David H. Tabor. Ambassador of the United States to Lithuania HE Robert S. Gilchrist will also be present at the meetings.
