On May 9 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas had a meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Bešta over Lithuania’s support to Ukraine, options of supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine with military equipment manufactured in Lithuania, and by arranging training for instructors/representatives of the Ukrainian military on different subjects, as well as by providing rehabilitation in Lithuania.
“We have to joint efforts to bring the war against Ukraine to an end as soon as possible, and Ukraine that has showcased its fortitude so spectacularly, has to be assisted in every way possible,” Minister A. Anušaukas said at the meeting.
Minister of National Defence confirmed that Lithuania would continue standing by Ukraine in its resistance against the aggressor and was ready to organize various training events and courses for Ukrainian troops and instructors. Minister also assured that MD Jonas Basanavičius Military Medical Service was ready to provide rehabilitation treatment for Ukrainian servicemembers in Lithuania. Lithuania also has plans to provide assistance to Ukraine in Lithuanian-produced military equipment produced.
