The Defence Materiel Agency under the Ministry of National Defence signed a contract with the Swedish company SAAB Bofors Dynamics AB on acquisition of the Carl Gustaf M4 84mm antitank recoilless rifles and spares worth of EUR 14 million. The weapons will arrive in 2025 – 2026.
The Carl Gustaf weaponry system is designed to take down armored targets and personnel. The latest M4 version is shorter and lighter than its predecessors, therefore easier to operate.
The Carl Gustaf antitank recoilless rifle may be used in support of unit maneuvers, to effectively destroy armored tactical vehicles and have demonstrated high effectiveness on the battlefield already.
