On May 30 minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas met with Oleksandr Korniyenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, on a visit in Lithuania and discussed further Lithuania’s support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Our nearest plans are to hand over armored vehicles, trucks and SUVs. We will also take decisions on anti-drone equipment and thermos-visor shipment in the next few days,” said A. Anušauskas and stressed that Ukraine’s experience in fighting off Russia was invaluable to all Europe.
Lithuania provides and will provide all possible to support to Ukraine’s statehood and independence, including military, financial, humanitarian and any other.
The military assistance Lithuania has given to date includes the Stinger air defence systems, anti-armor weapons, tactical vests and helmets, 120 mm mortars, small arms, thermovisors, drones, anti-drones and surveillance radars. The total of support Lithuania has provided to Ukraine to date amounts to approx. EUR 115 million.
