March 1 Vice Minister of National Defence Margiris Abukevičius met with foreign Defence Attachés accredited to Lithuania and discussed major project that the Ministry of National Defence seeks to complete against the backdrop of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
Vice Minister underscored two pivotal directions at this point: first, requirement identification, finding or procuring and the swiftest possible delivery of military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine fighting off the aggressor, and second, speeding up and implementation of decision on collective NATO actions aimed at strengthening defence of the eastern borders of the Alliance.
“A particularly tight coordination among all countries that send military assistance to Ukraine is crucial at this time to ensure provision of full spectrum of aid the Armed Forces of Ukraine needs. Defence Attachés and I have discussed our joint activity and agreed to exchange information about the decisions we take an the aid that is already on the way to Ukraine,” said Vice Minister M. Abukevičius.
Such events are planned to be held in the future depending on the need.
