On June 15 at about 0945 hrs two SU-24 military aircraft of the Russian Federation committed a possible violation of the Lithuanian airspace. The aircraft flew roughly two kilometers into the Lithuanian airspace spending here roughly a minute before leaving.
On June 16 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned a representative of the Russian Embassy and handed a protest note regarding the violation of the Lithuanian state border.
Lithuania requires Russia to provide an explanation about the incident and to take every measure necessary to prevent such incidents from happening.
