On January 18 Vice Minister Vilius Semeška started work in his positions at the Ministry of National Defence. His responsibilities cover the national defence budget and financial resources policy, and acquisitions, logistics and infrastructure of the national defence system.
“I know Vilius Semeška as a principled politician who always concerns himself with transparency of the matter. He is also a member of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union. I anticipate these attributes to help him in the position of vice minister,” Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas said about his choice.
“It is a huge responsibility and honour to join the work of building the strength of national defence. I will make every effort to make sure that state budget funds are used efficiently and transparently,” Vice Minister of National Defence V. Semeška says.
V. Semeška graduated from economy and banking studies. Before the appointment at the Ministry of National Defence he was a member of the Central Electoral Commission for three years, worked as a faction clerk at the Office of the Seimas. He also has a strong experience in working in the private sector: he managed several international companies, worked as their board member and boar chair.
V. Semeška holds a Master’s degree from Vilnius University, he also graduated from banking studies at the College of Economics of Vilnius.
The new Vice Minister of National Defence is also a member of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union, Antanas Juozapavičius 1st Riflemen Regiment.
