On April 25-26 XII International Military Medical Conference “Life-changing Rehabilitation: Best Practices, Challenges and Future Visions” is taking place in Druskininkai. Attendees and speakers of the conference are military medics and psychologists of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, representatives of civilian institutions, the United States, the Netherlands, Estonia, Latvia, Moldova, and Georgia.
“A comprehensive physical and psychological readiness of a soldier is not only a matter of resources but also of a complex approach that encompasses a spectrum of solutions: from installation of sports facilities in service locations to reintegration after traumas. We have to enhanced the understanding that physical training is an inseparable part of the military training as a whole,” Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis said at the opening of the conference.
Minister R. Karoblis also met with the leadership of the MD Jonas Basanavičius Military Medical Service during a visit to the Military Rehabilitation Centre to discuss matters of relevance to the Service and military rehabilitation, congratulated the community of the Military Medical Service’s Military Rehabilitation Centre on the 25th anniversary, underscored the importance of military medics in the Lithuanian Armed Forces and thanked for the responsible performance.
The XIIth International Military Medicine Conference in Druskininkai focusses on different methods and trends of medical rehabilitation and treatment, innovations of medical equipment are presented during the event. The conference schedule will also include practical rehabilitation activities and mental health promotion activities arranged by psychologists of the Military Medical Service.
On Lithuania’s behalf, the event is attended by more than 300 specialists from the Military Medical Service, Military Academy of Lithuania, other units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, specialists of the Ministry of the Interior and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
