President of the Republic of Lithuania bestowed the Knight’s Cross of the Order for Merits to Lithuania on U.S. Army Europe, Deputy Commanding General for the Army National Guard Maj Gen John Gronski at a solemn ceremony. The State Award was presented to the U.S. officer in recognition of his merits in strengthening Lithuania’s security and military cooperation between Lithuania and the United States.
The Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Cross of Vytis was presented to Director of the Second Investigation Department under the Ministry of National Defence Col Remigijus Baltrėnas for his professionalism and contribution to national security.
The Life Saving Cross was bestowed upon Staff Sergeant Nerijus Bubelevičius of the Military Police of the Lithuanian Armed Forces for his bravery, resource and resolve in rescuing a drowning person despite the risk to his own life.
