On July 27 – August 2, the NATO Baltic Air Policing Detachment was alerted to respond to one case of international flight regulation violation.
On July 30 NATO fighter aircraft identified and escorted one IL-20 flying via international airspace from the mainland of the Russian Federation to Kaliningrad. Its onboard transponder was switched off, the crew was maintaining radio communication but had no pre-filed flight plan.
