Today, Minister of National Defence Robertas Kaunas depart for Luxembourg, on a formal visit to meet with Minister of Defence Yuriko Backes. The meeting is planned to address security of the eastern flank and the region, including the EU initiatives strengthening defence and air defence, as well as Lithuania’s Presidency of the Council of the EU agenda, assistance to Ukraine and strengthening space defence capabilities.
Minister will also visit the Parliament of Luxembourg, meet with the President of the Parliament, as well as members of the Parliamentary Commissions for Defence and Foreign Affairs and the Delegation of Luxembourg to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Defence Ministers of both countries plan to sign a Letter of Intent on the European Union Governmental Satellite Communications (GOVSATCOM) services.
