The Lithuanian Armed Forces has added over EUR 5.7 million worth of AMRAAM 120B and SPIKE LR2 missiles, and 5,56×45 mm NATO BALL ammunition to its arsenal.
“We continue strengthening our air defence capability and investing in ammunition top-ups. The AMRAAM missiles are used for medium range air defence with the NASAMS, of which Lithuania will have a new battery in the course of this year. We are not losing pace: plenty of additional ammunition will be purchase to ensure excellent supply for the Lithuanian Armed Forces,” says Minister of National Defence Robertas Kaunas.
Spike LR2 is a rapid response high fire-power anti-armor missile effective on tanks, armored equipment, buildings and other high-value targets. The Lithuanian Armed Forces used the missiles with the Vilkas Infantry Fighting Vehicles giving them formidable fire power and added effective range.
