Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius bestowed the Bundeswehr Gold Cross of Honour on Defence Policy Director of the Ministry of National Defence Vaidotas Urbelis.
The high-level award expresses the appreciation for V. Urbelis’ personal contribution to the benefit of a stronger Lithuanian-German friendship and cooperation in the area of defence. V. Urbelis’ work strengthened the Allied partnership and tightened the cooperation and joint initiatives which improve our national security.
The decoration means not just appreciation of the effort of a person but also the importance of the Lithuanian-German partnership which is particularly vital today for the security of the region and the entire Europe.
