On February 14 Federal Minister for Digital and Transport Volker Wissing and his delegation paid a visit to the Ministry of National Defence aiming to get a clearer view of Lithuania’s cybersecurity policy, solutions and initiatives.
The guests were welcomed by Chancellor of the Ministry of National Defence Kristina Deviatnikovaitė, leaders of the MoD Cybersecurity and IT Policy Group and the National Cyber Security Centre were present the meeting.
“In the environment were cybersecurity threats are steadily growing, we need to exchange information and discuss arising challenges. Germany is an important strategic Ally to Lithuania and we need to build on our ties in the area of cybersecurity,” said K. Deviatnikovaitė.
The meeting officials discussed Lithuania’s cybersecurity policy and the recent changes in management, features of national legislation pertaining to the area, and directions for potential future cooperation between Lithuania and Germany on cybersecurity.
