On January 10–11 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas will meet with Latvian and Estonian counterparts Inara Mūrniece and Hanno Pevkuru respectively in Tallinn, capital of Estonia. The Baltic Defence Ministers will discuss assistance to Ukraine and other relevant aspects of regional security and cooperation.
Ministers are planned to discuss joint capability procurement and development, including the HIMARS system, and preparations for the NATO Summit in Vilnius due in June.
The Baltic states have been actively collaborating in the recent years in the area of the Baltic defence policing, maritime forces, joint training and officer training at the Baltic Defence College.
Other areas of cooperation and capability synchronization, coordination of joint acquisition, joint training events, exercises, workshops, and cooperation between individual services.
