Tomorrow, June 21, Minister of National Defence Laurynas Kasčiūnas and Ambassador of the United States in Lithuania HE Kara C. McDonald will visit the American troops deployed to Pabradė.
It is the 10th consecutive heel-to-toe rotation deployed to the Lithuanian Armed Forces General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area, it is formed by 2-8 cavalry and 1-82 field artillery battalions.
The recent U.S. rotation came in this May to train across the various exercises, live fire training and other events alongside battalions of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Infantry Brigade Griffin, other Lithuanian Armed Forces units and other Allied presence in Lithuania. The U.S. troops brought weaponry and equipment: M109A6 Paladin artillery systems, Abrams tanks, and the Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles.
The United States has been rotating in heavy armor battalions to Lithuania since 2019. U.S. and NATO presence in Lithuania is the key deterrent against aggression. The United States have taken a decision to maintain an uninterrupted American rotational force presence in the Baltic region. In its turn, Lithuania is committed to do everything necessary to ensure quality Host Nation Support and offer infrastructure to the deploying Allies.
