Part of the shipment of aid comprising 10 military trucks and 10 SUVs for demining operations the Ministry of National Defence and the Lithuanian Armed Forces had put together in the end of May was delivered to Ukraine over the past days. 10 armored personnel carriers M113 will be soon ready for delivery as well.
“We have to maintain the level of support to Ukraine as it stand up against the Russian aggression, and to work together with Allies to put an end to the war against Ukraine as soon as possible, while Ukraine that has demonstrated its fortitude so clearly has to be supported in every way possible all along,” says Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas.
Lithuania provides and will provide all possible support to Ukraine’s statehood and independence, including military, financial, humanitarian and any other.
The military assistance Lithuania has given to date includes the Stinger air defence systems, anti-armor weapons, tactical vests and helmets, 120 mm mortars, small arms, thermovisors, drones, anti-drones and surveillance radars.
The total of support Lithuania has provided to Ukraine so far amounts to approx. EUR 115 million.
Lithuania has also started training Ukrainians to use Western weaponry, the first course wrapped back in April providing 20 trained anti-tank system instructors to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
