The advanced long-range Ukrainian-made weapons paid for by Lithuania via the bilateral financing mechanism for the defence industry of Ukraine have been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine: the precisions weapons are already on the frontlines and scoring high in the battle-test.
In December 2024 the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania transferred EUR 10 million, the first part of the assistance pledged in the bilateral agreement on assistance to the defence and security forces of Ukraine through strengthening the defence industry of Ukraine.
“Ukraine’s struggle for freedom is a fight for the freedom of Europe too. Lithuania will continue the support for as long as it takes for Ukraine to come out victorious. Our commitment is iron-clad, resolute and carved in stone. Lithuania will remain a loyal partner prepared to render whichever assistance needed till victory,” said Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania Dovilė Šakalienė.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine with the Ministry of Defence of Lithuania are currently implementing yet another EUR 10 million worth joint project of assistance to the Ukrainian defence industry as well.
“The Lithuanian assistance is not only a tangible support to our warriors but also an investment in Ukraine’s fortitude, sovereignty and resilience. Such steps takes strengthen our defence capabilities in real time,” said Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
The Ministry of National Defence of Ukraine conveys deepest gratitude to the Government and people of Lithuania for unwavering support and significant contribution in strengthening not just Ukraine’s defensive power and security of the entire region of Europe as well. The funds will be used to further strengthen Ukraine’s long-range capabilities.
