On November 26 the International Partner Council of the Regional Cyber Defence Centre, division of the National Cyber Security Centre, agreed to step up cooperation on cyber threat analysis and start new cooperative activities in strengthening cyber defence capabilities.
“The National Cyber Security Centre is expanding international cooperation looking for way to propose wider and more flexible cooperation opportunities on cyber threat prevention. After three years of operating as part of the National Cyber Security Centre, the Regional Cyber Defence Centre is now an established platform of international cooperation. So we are setting new goals and beginning a new phase which will not only expand the number of engaged nations but will expand the spectrum of developed products,” says NCSC Director Liudas Ališauskas.
The next cyber security expert cooperation phase will facilitate the efforts to assemble the international community and implement joint projects. The National Cyber Security Centre will offer its tools for this matter not only to monitor cyberspace and conduct threat analysis but also for cyber hunt operations and reverse engineering to determine what cyber security risks are present by certain devices.
“I am confident that the new format of international cooperation will be a meaning initiative against cyber threats which will allow partners to pool resources, share expertise and together address the ever-changing challengers posed by cyber threats,” says L. Ališauskas
The meeting at the National Cyber Security Centre was attended by representatives of the current Regional Cyber Defence Centre partners: United States, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia and the Czech Republic, as well as observers from Japan and Finland.
The National Cyber Security Centre plans to introduce the new initiative to other foreign partners soon as well.
