On May 28 Minister of National Defence Laurynas Kasčiūnas will take part in the Foreign Affairs Council (Defence) in Brussels. The meeting will focus on the military assistance to Ukraine with attendance of Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov (via a video teleconference) and Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg.
The EU Foreign Affairs Council will also address the current situation on the ground, future commitments to Ukraine, long-term and short-term assistance. The meeting will also discuss reinforcement of the EU defence industry and improvement of its access to financing.
