November 28, a servicemember of the Belgian Armed Forces sustained injured at a mortar live fire training at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area in Pabradė. He immediately received first aid on site and was taken to medical facility in Vilnius at once. The injured servicemember is in critical condition due to multiple injuries, the medics are fighting for his life. Next of kin have been notified by the Belgian Armed Forces.
Belgian military personnel have been deployed to Lithuania on a regular basis with the NATO Multinational Battle Group since 2017.
