On July 8–14 fighter aircraft of the NATO Baltic Air Policing Detachment were scrambled three times to intercept aircraft of the Russian Federation violating flight rules in international airspace over the Baltic Sea, no patrols in international airspace over the Baltic Sea were conducted.
On July 10 fighter jets of the NATO Baltic Air Policing Mission Detachment were scrambled to intercept two SU-30 flying from the mainland of the Russian Federation to Kaliningrad through international space. The aircraft had no pre-filed flight plan, their onboard transponders were switched on, the crews were not maintaining radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre.
