On October 27 Defence Policy Director Vaidotas Urbelis attended the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) Defence Policy Directors’ meeting in Uppsala, Sweden, on regional cooperation enhancement opportunities.
In a discussion on the current security affairs the Defence Policy Directors agreed on the need for coordination and information and experience exchange.
The NB8 Defence Policy Directors also discussed assistance to Ukraine at the meeting in Uppsala. V. Urbelis invited the Allies to step the assistance and join the formed support coalitions.
All the countries in the region were invited to contribute to the demining coalition Lithuania initiated which was presented at the meeting.
The Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) is an informal cooperation format comprising Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
