Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas will be in attendance at the Bucharest Nine (B9) Defence Ministers’ meeting in Warsaw on April 26.
Minister of Defence of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary will discuss the security situation in the region in the context of Russia’s war in Ukraine, and the role of NATO and the EU in providing assistance to Ukraine.
Ministers will also discuss preparations for the oncoming NATO Summit in Vilnius in July and the necessity to strengthen NATO’s forward presence in the eastern flank of NATO.
The B9 is a political cooperation platform of Central and Eastern European Countries for strengthening the Euro-Atlantic security.
