The National Cyber Security Centre under the Ministry of National Defence wild be in the hands of cyber security expert Liudas Ališauskas.
The NCSC Director will be responsible for focusing closely on strengthen the resilience of the critical infrastructure of Lithuania against cyber threats, management of cyber-incidents and state-wide education to raise cyber maturity. He will also need to ensure NCSC infrastructure, financial and human resources are just right for the implementation of NCSC mission.
L. Ališauskas graduated from the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, served in different unis of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the National Defence System in 2004-2016, since 2016 worked in the public sector in positions responsible for cybersecurity in energy and finance companies.
The NSCC is the chief cybersecurity institution in Lithuania responsible for a unified management of cyber incidents, monitoring and control of implementation of cybersecurity requirements, cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, and accreditation of information resources.
Rytis Rainys, the previous director, completed his four-year term in office in spring 2022.
