On September 28 – October 4, the NATO Baltic Air Policing Detachment was alerted to respond to five international flight regulation violations.
On October 1, NATO fighter aircraft conducting the Air policing over the Baltic states were sent to intercept one AN26. On October 2, NATO fighter jets were scrambled to identify and escort one SU35 flying through international airspace from and to Kaliningrad. The crew had no prefilled flight plan, kept the onboard transponder switched off, but were keeping radio communication with the regional air traffic control.
