Vice Minister of National Defence Vitalija Zumerienė attended Eurosatory 2026, the international security and defence industry exhibition in Paris. There she met with leaders of defence industry, partners and Allies to discuss potential cooperation in the area of defence industry, investment in defence sector, acquisitions, and joint project development.
During the visit, Vice Minister also opened the Lithuanian Eurosatory 2026 Pavilion.
“The Baltic countries are consistently building up their security and defence capabilities through investment in the Armed Forces, advanced weapons, innovation and defence industry. The experience of the war in Ukraine has demonstrated the imperative of reliable supply chains for resilient defence, therefore industrial cooperation and joint solutions are among top priorities at Eurosatory 2026,” said Vice Minister V. Zumerienė.
In the discussions organised at the event, V. Zumerienė underscored that strengthening national defence industry was among the most important strategic objectives of Lithuania. She presented the Green Corridor Initiative implemented by the Government to provide more favourable conditions for local and foreign investors, decreases administrative costs and accelerates the implementation of defence processes. Lithuania focusses its efforts in four main directions: production of ammunition and explosives, development of UAV and counter-UAV systems, maintenance of heavy military equipment, and strengthening maritime defence capabilities.
Vice Minister also met with representatives of defence industry companies at Eurosatory 2026, including from Israel, the U.S., Sweden, Norway, France, Finland, Germany, and more. She also had meetings with counterparts and decision-makers from the U.S., France, Germany and Sweden.
