It had no pre-filed flight plan, without using the onboard transponder and not maintaining radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre.
On November 15 NATO Air Policing fighter jets intercepted one IL-20 fling in international airspace from and back to Kaliningrad. It had no pre-filed flight plan, not using the onboard transponder and not maintaining radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre.
On November 15 NATO Air Policing fighter aircraft were scrambled to identify and escort one IL-20 flying through international airspace from and back to Kaliningrad. The flight had no pre-filed plan, the crew kept the onboard transponder switched off and were not marinating radio communication.
On November 17 NATO fighter jets identified and escorted one IL-20 flying via international airspace from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. It had no pre-filed flight plan, its onboard transponder was switched off, the crew was maintaining radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre. During the same scramble the NATO aircraft also intercepted one AN-26 on its way from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad. It had no pre-filed flight plan, had the onboard transponder switched on and maintained radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre.
